My little Benny Boo Boo's just turned 5. That' right. My sweet little boy is old enough to go to school this fall. I can't believe how quickly the time has flown by. It seems like just yesterday we were bringing this tiny little baby home, and now he's going to school.
When I first found out I was having a boy, I freaked out because I had no idea how to take care of little boys. I had always been around little girls that love princesses, tea parties and things like that. After we found out that we were having TWO boys, I freaked out even more. After being at home with them for the past 5 years, I think I've kinda gotten the hang of it.
After countless moment spent learning in ins and outs of raising tough little boys, I though I had pretty much learned everything I needed to know about them, and they liked almost all the awesomely nerdy things I did (including, but not limited to, Star Wars, Video Games, and making messes). THis was until Ben's birthday party when he opened up this:
H e was lucky enough to be gifted this super awesome Lego batman set. My first thought was, "Great... these things are going to be scattered all over the house." But after Ben begging that night that he get to play with the Batmobile, I agreed to put together one part of the set. To my surprise, this was the awesomest thing EVER. It got late and I had to wait to put the rest of it together the next day, but I did think about letting the kids stay up extra late just so I could finish.
I had no idea that all these toys that they made for little boys could be so awesome. I am tempted to go buy every little boy toy I can find now to see what else I was missing out on in my childhood. I'm sure there are way cooler things than Barbies (not that I still don't love those) in the boy section that I have yet to discover!
